Blade Structural Engineer

    LM Wind power is looking for a blade structural engineer to work with structural design of wind turbine blades

    Become part of the global engineering team
    LM Wind Power is growing, and we are strengthening our structural design team; therefore we have established a new position to work on the structural design of wind turbine blades. You will participate in blade design projects, where your contribution will with be within the areas:

     

    • Structural blade design development
    • Preparation for manufacturing
    • Prototype production in some of our 14 factories across the world
    • Full scale blade testing
    • Certification

    You will be based in the Stress Engineering group in our headquarters in Kolding, or alternatively in our Design office in Heerhugoward in the Netherlands.

     

    As responsible for the blade structural design, you will do the design work in the in-house tool LMBlades. The FEM work is ordered from a group of designated people. The blade designs are made in close cooperation with external and internal customers such as Engineering, Business units, Sales, Global Quality and Global Sourcing etc.

    You will also be part of a group of experts, maintaining and improving the blade designs as well as design methods and procedures.

     

    Mechanical engineer background
    You have a background in mechanical engineering, but are also able to handle practical issues related to the workshop. Experience with composites is an advantage. You will not need to perform FEM yourself, but experience and understanding of FEM is an advantage.

     

    As a person, you are a team player and able to communicate with people with different backgrounds and cultures. You have a good understanding of structural issues and can keep the overview of a complex project with many inputs. You are flexible towards your daily activities, eager to learn and willing to take responsibility for solving tasks on time and at the required technical level. You will work in a highly skilled team of engineers and technicians from different cultures.

     

    English is our corporate language, and we expect that you have a high level, both in written and spoken English.

    Finally, you are a well-organized, self-driven person, who is able to work and complete tasks independently and on time.
